Logo

Logo usage

In addition to the own commission logo, the VSETH logo must always be used. How this works exactly is stated at the CI-Guidelines of the VSETH and in the AGO (guidelines for the appearance of the VSETH). Exceptions can be decided by the VSETH board.

Also, make sure that your Committee is listed in the PO-contract with VSUZH, because then you also have to comply with the VSUZH appearance guidelines.

Logo adaptation

If you want to adapt your commission logo, you have to consider the following things:

  • The VSETH board must be informed in advance (approx. 4 weeks) about the change (send mail to vorstand@vseth.ethz.ch) by describing how the logo should be changed (small adjustments, completely new, lettering, image etc.) and why (e.g. we want new version, is outdated, does not reflect our purpose so etc.).
  • When the logo is ready, send it to kommunikation@vseth.ethz.ch as well as to ia@vseth.ethz.ch so that it can be adapted.
  • In general, we will proceed as follows: To allow for the widest possible application, we have decided on 4 formats: logo, logo-mono, signet and signet-mono. 'logo' stands for your normal (in most cases wide) logo. In web apps, this is displayed at the top of the navbar, for example. 'signet' stands for a minimal version of your logo. The signet should be as square as possible and remain easily recognizable even on a small scale. A typical application for the signet is the small icon displayed on browser tabs. For the mono version of the logo and signet, the same description applies as for the normal version, but in addition it should be monochrome *black*. To enable the use of these files in automated processes, it is necessary that a uniform nomenclature is also adhered to. Therefore I would ask you to use the labels listed above (logo, logo-mono etc.), to deliver the logos as .svg files and to bundle them in a .zip archive. As a sample of how the whole thing should look like, I am sending you attached the individual versions of the VSETH logo. For some of you there is only a square version of the logo. In such cases I ask you to send the files twice, once as logo.svg and once as signet.svg. But first think carefully whether the logo can be adapted to a wide version.
    • You will get bonus points for the following additional files:
      1) logo-inv/signet-inv: the logo (or signet) as it should be displayed on a black background. In most cases this means simply replacing all black areas with white.
      2) If you have an official font, please send it as .ttf.
  • In case of deviations from the general procedure, please contact kommunikation@vseth.ethz.ch.
