Patronage for ETH Rooms

VSETH can provide a patronage for ETH rooms.
With a patronage no additional fees have to be payed which would apply to third parties.

By issuing a patronage, VSETH takes over some responsibility over the content and the organisation of the event.
In particular, the event has to:

  • be a fit to ETH in terms of content and reputation
  • have a direct or indirect benefit for ETH
  • be organized by a student organization
  • not be commercial
  • comply with the room use regulations (Raumbenützungsreglement)

Fill out the patronage form and send it to patronate@vseth.ethz.ch (for meeting rooms at least 2 weeks in advance, for lecture halls at least 4 weeks in advance). VSETH then checks the patronage and forwards it to the responsible ETH offices (with the organizers in the CC).

Fraternities ("Studentenschaften") apply for a patronage directly from the Services department.
No patronage is awarded for political events (e.g. free speech by a politician) and corporate advertising events (e.g. company presentation & career opportunities).
Patronage for religious events is only possible if an open discourse is made possible, several views are presented and none of them is given priority.

High-visibility rooms are Audimax HG (HG F 30), Semper Aula (HG G 60), Polyterasse, Piazze Hönggerberg (Joseph-von-Deschwanden-Platz and Stefano-Franscini-Platz).
Special content is identified on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of VSETH and the Services department (e.g. security-related activities or critical content).

What is stated in the Patronage Guideline (de) applies.
