Student associations engage for students for assigned course of subjects.
VSETH helps with financing, organisation of events and additional services, and facilitates the exchange with other student associations.

Student associations provide delegates to the Council of the Student Associations (Fachvereinsrat, often called FR) and the Members Council (Mitgliederrat, often called MR).

They organize themselves to a large extent independently (thus student associations are also their own legal entities), the student association legal notices apply. 

From the VSETH legal notice the following rules apply to the student associations:

• Assignment according to assignment list (in case of changes in study programs write ia@vseth.ethz.ch)
